Frequently Asked Questions

General & Product

  • What makes Poppy’s Harvest different from kibble? Kibble is highly processed and often contains "mystery" fillers. We use human-grade whole foods (meats, veggies, and grains) that are gently cooked to RETAIN nutrients. If you wouldn't eat it, we don't feed it to your dog.
  • Is your food "raw"? No. Our meals are gently cooked. This ensures the food is safe from harmful bacteria while remaining much more digestible and nutrient-dense than traditional burnt-brown kibble.
  • Where do you source your ingredients? We believe in staying local. We source our ingredients as close to home as possible to ensure freshness and support our North Texas community.

Delivery & Service Area

  • Where do you deliver? We currently serve residents in Flower Mound, Highland Village, Coppell, Lewisville, TX and surrounding areas by availability.
  • When will I receive my order? Orders placed by Monday are delivered on Thursday weekly.
  • Do I need to be home for delivery? No! Since our food is fresh, we recommend leaving a cooler out if you won't be home, or we can provide insulated packaging for a $5 fee to keep the meals chilled until you get back.

Feeding & Storage

  • How should I store the food? Keep up to 4 days' worth of food in the refrigerator. The rest should be stored in the freezer.
  • How do I transition my dog to Poppy’s Harvest? We recommend a 7-day transition. Start by mixing 25% Poppy’s Harvest with 75% of their old food, gradually increasing the ratio over the week to avoid tummy upsets.
  • How much food should I feed my dog? Every dog is unique, but most adult dogs need about 30 calories per pound of body weight per day. Each recipe averages ~350 calories per cup. We recommend splitting daily portions into 2 meals per day. You will receive a feeding chart in your "Welcome to the Harvest" pack.
