Our story

Like most dog parents, I used to feed my dogs kibble without giving it much thought. It was convenient, widely recommended, and I assumed it was “good enough.” That changed when our beloved dog, Brook, developed cancer and passed away far too young. Losing her was heartbreaking, and in the midst of that grief, I began to question everything — especially the role nutrition plays in our dogs’ health.

I realized something simple but powerful: nutrition matters for more than just humans. What we feed our dogs every day matters too. This idea is so simple, I don't know why I didn't see it before. We love our dogs, and we want what's best for them.

After that loss, I made the decision to switch our Yorkshire terrier, Poppy, to a fresh, real-food diet. The difference was undeniable — better energy, improved digestion, and a level of vitality I hadn’t seen before. It confirmed what I had started to believe: dogs thrive on real food, not heavily processed kibble.

Poppy’s Harvest was created to give more dogs the opportunity to eat the way nature intended — with fresh, wholesome ingredients you can recognize, prepared with care. This isn’t about trends or perfection; it’s about offering a better option for families who want to nourish their dogs with real food and real love.
